Mp begs Queen Mother for irresponsible act.

The Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin Constituncy in the Brong Ahafo Region Hon Sanja Nanja has rendered an unqualified apology to the queen mother of Atebubu, Nana Akua Donyina for his remarks against her.

The NDC MP had been under heavy criticism for insulting the queen mother and accusing her of being a drunkard.

His comment received bashing from loyalists of the queen mother compelling the chiefs of the area to place a ban on the MP restricting him from entering the chief’s palace.

The chiefs also indicated that, they would not attend any public functions of which the MP is part.

But Hon Sanja Nanja in an interview with ghwaysnews said he is sorry for his comment against the queen mother and would want the Traditional council to forgive him.

“I am sorry for the vulgar language I used against the Queen Mother. I have accepted my mistakes and therefore am apologizing to Nananom of the Atebubu Community to forgive me. I heard the queen mother’s comments on radio, she never insulted me but I insulted her with anger” he said.

Several people sustained series of injury as a result of a scuffle between supporters of the Member of Parliament for the area, Sanja Nanja and the DCE, Sampson Owusu Boateng over the suspended DCE Hon. Sampson Owusu Boateng by the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Hon. Eric Opoku.

The clashes led to the burning of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party office in Atebubu- Amantin, while some NDC youth also allegedly ransacked the home of the official bungalow of the former DCE.

The subsequent tension which created unease in the district, especially for members of the Atebubu Traditional Council, some members of the NDC, as well as members of the Atebubu Youth Association led to the unsatisfied remarks by the MP against the Queen Mother Nana Akua Donyina calling her a drunkard.
