A legal Pratitioner and executive director of Legal advocacy founadtion, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has questioned the Bureau of National Investigation BNI the detention of the two aids to Nana Akuffo Addo, indicating that they have violated the rights of the two.

According to the Legal practitioner, it was unlawful for the BNI to arrest the two since they pose no security threat on the Nation and added that the move by the security agency deepens the Political tension in the Country as we are in the election season.

The duos, Kwadwo Kyeremeh and Malik Neequaye, bodyguard and personal photographer of Nana Addo were detained by the BNI late Tuesday for reportedly not filling out a ‘personality profile’ form at the BNI office, despite being asked to.

They were said to have acted as witnesses at the time the BNI took custody of the items from Captain Koda and had to be present at the time of the release but the BNI insisted the pair must fill the “Personality Profile” forms, despite an explicit advice from their lawyers not to do so.

Meanwile, speaking on the issue, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw told TOPNEWS1 that the security agency has gone beyond their duty which is to protect the state and the government in Power from being abused and also ensure security.

He said, detaining a personality who belongs to a major opposition Party without a clear justification to back your move is a risk to National security.
