Ejisu MCE election: Yamoah Ponkor failed again

The third round of the election to confirm Mr. Yamoah Ponkor as the Ejisu Juaben MCE has ended today amid tight security with 68 Assembly Members made up of 47 elected members and 21 government appointees set to decide for his fate.

The nominee Yamoa Ponkor and his supporters were left disappointed after he was declared to have lost for the third time with 38 votes for him and 30 against him.

In spite of the dozens of security personnel who were deployed to secure the election, there were occasional experiences of aggression between the macho men of Mr. Yamoah Ponkor and some of the residents which led to the arrest of two people.

However, some of the Assembly members and some residents who were against the former MCE to take back his seat were left with joy in chanting and hooting at the failed past MCE.

Hon Yamoah Ponkor accused some members of the NPP as being the master mind behind his defeat.

He mentioned the names of Mr. Antwi Boasiako a.k.a Chairman Wontumi and Hon. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, Member Of Parliament Ejisu Constituency as the two hinders to his success.

“Chairman Wontumi, Owusu Aduomi and the NPP Party members planned against my failure. They have been planning clandestine with the Assembly Members, organizing meetings with them for them to vote against me for fear of facing me in Politics” he said.
