Dr. Nassiru Issahaku
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr Nasiru Issahaku as the Governor of Bank of Ghana.

His appointment follows a decision by Dr. Kofi Wampah who took an early retirement, four months before the end of his term on August 05, 2016.

Dr. Kofi Wampah took an early leave from the office as the governor of BOG due to his long outstanding leave days which took effect from April 1, 2016 ahead of the end of his tenure which falls on August 5, 2016.

First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Millison Narh, took over as acting governor of the Bank of Ghana until the appointment of a substantive governor by President John Mahama, Monday, April 4.

However, customers and depositors of some collapsed microfinance institutions have welcomed the new governor and have asked him to expedite the process for them to retrieve their investments.
