Some group of head potters in the Kumasi Metropolis yesterday with their materials joined foot with the opposition NPP, Let My Vote Count Alliance, Movement for change, Alliance for accountable governance and other opposition parties to demonstrate against the Electoral Commission Ghana.

The demonstration according to the opposition NPP and their allies was to register their dissatisfaction about the conduct of the electoral commission concerning the validity of the voters register.

They are demanding the chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana Mrs. Charlotte Osei to implement the recommendation made by the Justice Crabbe committee to validate the voters register.

Meanwhile the demonstration which received a massive turn out brought to the grounds some group of head potters "Kayayei" in Kumasi led by Adiza popularly called Zongo pioneer. 


Although the demonstration was to vent anger against the E/C, Adiza and her team of head potters had a sideline purpose for participating.

In an interview with the leader of the head potters who is also known to be affiliated to NPP, Adiza indicated that, their motive for participating in the "Baamu Yaada" demonstration was to express their disappointment in President Mahama following the hard economic situation in the country.

According to her they are finding it difficult to bare with the high cost of living, adding that their purpose of migrating to the city has been the other way round due to the situation.

She said, they will rally for votes for Nana Akuffo Addo to take over the presidential seat from President Mahama in the upcoming general elections saying that they believe Nana Addo is the person who can hear their cry and meet their demands.
