Man 25 shot dead by personnel of the Timber commission.

A 25 year old man Yaw Stephen has been shot dead by some personnel of the Ghana forestry commission over GHC30 at the Ntensrere barrier at Besease junction off the Sunyani road.

The deceased was among four people in an Opel taxi cab returning from Mankranso escorting a cargo car loaded with some timber logs at around 10pm last Sunday.

Patrick Osei who was among the passengers narrating the incident to Angel News said, a Police patrol team and some personnel of the Forestry commission, stopped their car with the load and demanded GHC430 from them.

According to him, they managed to gather GHC400 but the personnel insisted they add the GHC30 and upon failing to settle, one of the men fired a gun at them when they attempted to move the car killing Yaw Stephen and injuring another in the process.

Meanwhile, mother of the deceased, Madam Elizabeth Adwoa Kyerewaa has expressed shock over the death of her son.

She has called on the authorities to as a matter of urgency put up measures to bring the perpetrators to book.
