Commercial drivers in the Kumasi Metropolis have expressed their dissatisfaction over the just upward adjustment of fuel prices.

The drivers say they are really disappointment in the government, as they trusted in it for better living conditions.

"Things are rough in the country now and we didn't expect any fuel price increment at this time. It should've rather remain the same", they said.

The National Petroleum Authority, (NPA) announced an increment in fuel prices last Thursday with 4-6% in petrol and 6-8% in diesel respectively.

A visit to some of the various petroleum stations indicated that a liter of petrol has risen from 4.330lt to 4.490lt, making Ghc20.20 as a liter of diesel has also adjusted from 4.240lt to 4.490 making Ghc20.20.

Some commercial drivers in the Kumasi Metropolis in an interview said they thought there would be a drop down of fuel prices but rather their hope has been defeated and asked the government to maintain the current prices of fuel or risk loosing their support.

"We are much disappointed in the government. They are taking us for a joke. We wanted some decrease of fuel prices but has rather been increased. The government must do something about it".

It seems most Ghanaians are losing confidence in the current NPP administration, as they see no unique changes that has ever happened from when the NPP took power from the NDC.

Though the government has been able to implement some of its touted promises that influenced Ghanaians to vote them in, most of the citizens seem losing hope already following the lack of overflow of money in the country as they thought.

However, the NPP government has on several occasions insisted to commit to make it happen all the promises they made to Ghanaians during their campaign in the 2016 general elections to bring some relief to the country.
