High tension pole stucks in water, residents cry for help

Residents at Nyinahin Kyeraso Nkwanta electoral area in the Atwima Mponua District in the Ashanti region have expressed fear over an electricity pole which has been stucked in a pool of water.

According to the residents, the high tension pole which has been in the pool of water for sometime now has been posing danger to the residents near the area.

In an interview, some of the residents said the situation was caused by the activities of some landlords around the area who failed to cover up a pit they dug with excavators to embark on their projects.

They said due to this, a bridge at the area has been clogged, hence, creating a large pool of water around the electricity pole.



One of the residents said the high tension pole which has reached its danger level connects from Nyinahin to Mpasatia and Nkawie, and that its collapse will create total blackout in the district. 

He said all efforts to reach the authorities to get the situation resolved has yielded no positive outcome.

The residents have therefore appealed to the DCE, hon.  William Darko to act on the situation, adding that they will not stop at anywhere until they get the situation resolved.
