Adisadel college suspends students involved in violent assault on campus

The headmaster of Adisadel College has responded to a disturbing video that captures a violent assault on a student within the school premises.

The video shows one student locking the arms of another student and forcefully hitting his face against a metal bed, resulting in profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye.

The incident, which came to light through the viral video, has sparked outrage and concerns among parents, students, and the general public.

According to a brief statement reportedly coming from the headmaster through the chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the school, the incident occurred on June 30, but both the perpetrator and the victim initially kept it hidden from the authorities.

The statement disclosed that both the culprit responsible for the assault and the victim have been sent home, with the victim expected to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) center.

Additionally, the student who filmed the distressing incident will face a one-week external suspension as a consequence of his involvement in the incident.

“The housemaster and his co will be suspended immediately, pending the outcome of this video (act) by GES,” the brief added.

Inhumane:Taxi driver beaten mercilessly by Policemen

A taxi driver believed to be in his 40's who ply Anloga Junction to Atonsu had a close shave after some t hree Police Men p ounced on him and assulted him at the Anloga junction Taxi rank. The victim who mentioned his name as Agya Poku explaining his ordeal to TOPNEWS1 said, he engaged in an exchange of insults with the police personnel who were not in their uniform for intentionally blocking the road with their motor bike whilst the traffic light had indicated green. He said, the cops chased him to his taxi rank where he packed his car, dragged him out of his car and started to beat him up, handcuffed him and drove him off to the central Police station where he received several brutalities from other colleagues of the men in black. The driver added that, he was taken to the Police counter after receiving the beatings where he was detained for sometime before releasing him. He is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country.
