Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah accused of land scheme deception

 John Kumah, the Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, is embroiled in a controversy as he faces accusations of involvement in a deceptive land scheme.

A woman is seen in a viral video, accusing the minister of deceitfully  taking her land. 


She alleges that John Kumah acquired her land under the pretense of a government project, but instead, he is allegedly using it for his private business.

 

The visibly upset woman passionately demands the return of her land, expressing her outrage and determination to expose the deputy minister’s actions.

She repeatedly calls him a thief and urges him to return the land to its rightful owners.

“I didn’t know John Kumah is a thief. He is a thief.

“He is an MP who is a thief. He should give us our land,” she said as she walked about on the supposed land that she is accusing the deputy minister of stealing.

“I can’t wait to broadcast it to everybody that John Kumah is a thief. John Kumah has stolen our land; he should give us our land,” she claimed.

Another voice heard in the video supports the woman’s claims, stating that John Kumah deceived them when he asked for the land for a government project but later used it for personal gain.

“You came to ask for the land that the government is about to put up a project here, and you are packing cars on the land. Now, you are coming to use the land for your private business.

“We should vote for you only to do this to us, John Kumah you are done. We’ve been quiet, he should know that this is his last time as an MP here,” he also said.


The deputy minister is yet to respond to the accusations levelled against him.

Inhumane:Taxi driver beaten mercilessly by Policemen

A taxi driver believed to be in his 40's who ply Anloga Junction to Atonsu had a close shave after some t hree Police Men p ounced on him and assulted him at the Anloga junction Taxi rank. The victim who mentioned his name as Agya Poku explaining his ordeal to TOPNEWS1 said, he engaged in an exchange of insults with the police personnel who were not in their uniform for intentionally blocking the road with their motor bike whilst the traffic light had indicated green. He said, the cops chased him to his taxi rank where he packed his car, dragged him out of his car and started to beat him up, handcuffed him and drove him off to the central Police station where he received several brutalities from other colleagues of the men in black. The driver added that, he was taken to the Police counter after receiving the beatings where he was detained for sometime before releasing him. He is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country. According to Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boampensem, politicians in the country have over the years displayed gross disrespect for traditional rulers, adding that the politicians are too bossy. Speaking with TOPNEWS in reaction to comments made by the MP of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon Sanja Nanja against the queen Mother of the Land, the chief said the legislator’s behavior if in the olden days, could have attracted severe banishment to him. The MP angrily insulted the authority of the queen Mother by referring to her as a drunkard. Nana Bofotia has therefore called on politicians in the Country to ‘’learn sense’’ and give maximum recognition to the rulers of the land.
