NHIS is working in the Ashanti Region- Deputy health Minister defends

The deputy Minister of health Hon. Dr. Victor Banffo has dispelled rumors making rounds to the effect that the National Health Insurance policy in the Ashanti Region  has ceased to function.
 

The deputy Minister answering questions as to the validity of the NHIS in the Ashanti Region at a forum in Kumasi admitted that though there has been some lapses concerning the smooth running of the free health policy in the Region, there is no need to create impression that the Scheme has stop functioning.
 

He assured that the government is putting up  measures to  avert the challenges to enable it run very smoothly.
 

According to him, the Scheme has improved greatly in the Ashanti Region under the NDC administration indicating that the policy has been a benefit to the people in the Region.
 

The Ashanti Regional edition of "The Government for the People forum" was organized by the Ministry of communications.
 

The event brought to the grounds the Ashanti Regional Minister and his deputy, including some Ministers and heads of departments, MMDCEs and Nananom to offer Ghanaians the opportunity to interact with government functionaries on important issues affecting the progress of the Nation.
