ABRANTIE COLLEGE SUPPORTS PUPILS WITH SCHOOL UNIFORMS

 Abrantie college, a cosmetology school in the Greater Accra Region has provided free School Uniforms for some pupils of Kotobabi No.2 T.W.M.A JHS in the Greater Accra Region. The uniforms which were sowed by students of Abrantie College at the premises of the Kotobabi School forms part of the college's corporate social responsibilities. Some staff of the Kotobabi JHS were given some treats by students of Abrantie College. Speaking in an interview, Headteacher of Kotobabi JHS, Mrs. Frances Agyemang lauded the management of Abrantie college for their kind gesture and called on other philanthropist to come to their aid, as they are confronted with a lot of challenges.

ABRANTIE COLLEGE TREATS LEGACY GIRLS COLLEGE LEAVERS

 Abrantie college, a renowned cosmetology institution in the Greater Accra Region, has as part of their activities for the year, organized a one day practical exercise at Legacy Girls College, in the Greater Accra Region. The program was to orient the outgoing students of Legacy Girls College on how to groom themselves as they leave the school for their various homes. In an interview, the Deputy Head Domestic, Mrs. Elizabeth Osei Poku expressed her profound gratitude towards the management of Abrantie college for their kind gesture. She said, she believes the training will enable the outgoing Students of Legacy Girls College take good care of themselves and broaden their knowledge about beautification and good appearance.

ABRANTIE COLLEGE HOLDS MATRICULATION CEREMONY

 A cosmetology School in the Greater Accra Region, Abrantie college has held a matriculation ceremony it's 2023 academic year. The event was graced by some personal from the artisan and cosmetology sector, parents and other prominent personalities. Speaking at the ceremony which was held in Accra, CEO of the college, Mr. King David Thompson encouraged Ghanaian youth to venture into vocational training to ease their stress in finding a job. He further advised the students to take their studies seriously and refrain from all forms of immoral activities that have the tendency to mar their purpose of joining the institution. The new students were given admission letters to prove their membership of the institution. Meanwhile, some of the students expressed their gratitude towards the management of Abrantie college for setting up such an institution.

SAD NEWS: FORMER BANTAMA MP DIES

Report reaching TopNews1 indicates that,  former Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye has died. The sad incident occurred on Saturday, September 23. He died after a short illness. Mr Okyem Aboagye served as MP from 2017 to 2021 after beating Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in 2015. He served as a member of the Finance Committee in the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic. He was, however, defeated by Francis Asenso-Boakye ahead of the 2020 elections in a hotly contested party primaries that saw Dr Kokofu backing the current Minister of Works and Housing. G/R: Juju man arrested during demolition exercise at Nima

A traditional priest who was contracted by some residents at Nima, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra Region to stop a demolition exercise by the AMA has been arrested by the police. A video circulating on social media captures a fetish priest clad in his traditional regalia who walked majestically to the demolition site amidst cheering ups by some youth. According to reports, residents who were affected by the demolition exercise employed the Juju man to go and stop the ongoing exercise with his powers but ended up being arrested by police personnel who were sent there to guide the exercise. The leader of the police team was heard ordering his men to arrest the Juju man who was full of himself. However, those who were chanting and cheering him up were seen fleeing the scene after he was arrested.

  The Ghanaian entertainment industry has yet been stroke by great dismay, following the sudden death of popular musician and actor, Andy Nii Akrashei, popularly known as OJ Blaq. According to reports, the "chale wote" hit maker died at the age of 40 on 17th August, 2023, after battling kidney problem for years. It will be recalled that OJ Blaq, was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2021, as a result of his past lifestyle choices involving binge drinking and smoking. He underwent dialysis treatment and was awaiting a kidney transplant but suddenly kicked the bucket earlier this morning. The news of his demise was confirmed by family and close friends of the rapper, however, the cause of his death is yet to be revealed. Sad News: Bekwai MCE’s daughter allegedly murdered at her home

      Reports TOPNEWS1 indicate that the daughter of the Municipal Chief Executive of Bekwai in the Ashanti region, Kwaku Kyei Baffour, has allegedly been killed in her home at Bebu in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti region. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, 3rd August 2023. According to the assembly member for the Bebu electoral area, Boakye Ansah, the husband of the deceased discovered her lifeless body upon returning from work, with her neck turned unnaturally. The police were immediately notified and have begun their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.     Residents at Offinso Abofour Kayera in the Ashanti Region have experienced some relief as a 32 year old refuse dump has been evacuated. The exercise was held by the  Offinso South Municipal in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development was  aimed at improving sanitation confronting issues in the area. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Offinso South Municipality, Hon. Kingsley Owusu Appiah in an interview said the evacuation of Abofour Kayera dumping -site forms part of government's priorities to ensure that dumpsites situated close to residential communities are evacuated to prevent outbreak of sanitation related diseases.   According to the MCE, the motive behind this exercise was to ensure good hygiene in the area which seeks to prevent future outbreak of disease in the future. We are not against tricycle operations in Kumasi – KMA

  The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has explained their decision for regulating tricycle  and other vehicular activities in the Kumasi Metropolis. In an interview with the Media during a stakeholders meeting between the Assembly and the various transport Unions who operate in the Metropolis, Head of the Assembly’s transport Department, Mr. Randy Wilson disclosed that the Assembly is not against tricycle activities but only implementing measures to ensure sanity in the Central Business District. The meeting follows an agitation by Tricycle operators in the Kumasi Metropolis over KMA’s intention to ban them from operating within the Central Business District. Police investigate police officer manhandling a suspect at Dadease in a viral video

Police have begin investigations into a viral video capturing a police officer meting out a macabre inhumane treatment on a young man during an arrest at Dadease near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region. The said Police officer has been detained and interdicted and will be taken through the due process of the law. Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police yesterday upon receiving a copy of the video sent a team from the Ashanti North Regional Police Command to engage the victim's family. He has also spoken to the victims mother via the telephone and assured her of a thorough investigation into the matter.

KMA to sweep out commercial sex workers from Adum, Asafo

   The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has disclosed it's intention to clamp down on illicit sex workers at Adum and Asafo in the Kumasi Metropolis. A report filed by the Assembly's social services - sub committee which was presented by the Chief Executive officer at KMA, Hon. Samuel Pyne during the Assembly's 2nd ordinary meeting today states that the Assembly has resolved to collaborate with the police and other security agencies to assist them in the battle against the alarming situation of commercial sex activities. According to the report, the Assembly as a matter of urgency will be consulting the security agencies to undertake regular swoops at the areas to apprehend the culprits.     John Kumah, the Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, is embroiled in a controversy as he faces accusations of involvement in a deceptive land scheme. Freda Prempeh appointed new sanitation minister

  The president of the Republic of Ghana, his excellency Nana Addo Danqua Akuffo - Addo has appointed hon. Freda Prempeh, Member of parliament for Tano North constituency and Minister of State at the Presidency as the new Minister for Sanitation and water resources. She replaces Mrs. Cecelia Dapaah who is currently under investigations by the police over corruption accusations. Her appointment comes after the President accepted a resignation letter from Mrs. Cecelia Dapaah, on 22nd July, 2023. Mrs, Cecelia Dapaah stolen money: Police submit case docket of investigation to the office of the Attorney general

Police have forwarded the docket of the case of Mrs. Cecelia Abenaa Dapaah, former minister for sanitation and water resources and her husband, Mr. Daniel Osei Kuffour to the office of the Attorney general and Ministry of justice. Some suspects involved in the case have been arrested by the police as well as some other stolen items retrieved, whiles the suspects have been arraigned before court. A statement signed by Assistant commissioner of police/ director, public affairs, Ms Grace Ansah Akrofi says, the docket of the case has been submitted to the Attorney general and Ministry of justice to seek their advice to help in their investigations.
