CEO OF ABRANTIE COLLEGE WINS EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AWARD 2023

CEO of Abrantie college, Mr. David Thompson, has been honoured by Ghana Standard Business Award for his immense contribution towards the growth and sustainability of the Creative Arts industry.


Mr. David Thompson acclaimed the Exemplary Leadership Award ( Creative Arts) of the year 2023. 


The award ceremony which took place at Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra brought to the grounds some top-notch personalities in the Creative Arts Industry.


Mr. Thompson who won the Exemplary Leadership Award 2023, is a seasoned professional Cosmetologist/ Designer and a Market Strategist with excellent planning, organizational, analytical and Creative Skill Strengths as well as the ability to reach audience, establish goals and attain results. 


He has the ability to consistently exceed trend expectations with an excellent track record in coordinating training and plan budgets towards the achievement of set goals/objectives.


In his acceptance speech, Mr. Thompson expressed his profound gratitude to the organisers of the award scheme and dedicated the award to the Staff and students of Abrantie college.


He further advised the youth to consider adding vocational training to their formal education in order not to stress themselves in finding jobs.


Abrantie College is a Creative Arts Institution which offers Fashion & Designing, Hair Technology, Beauty   Therapy and Generic Studies. 


Since its inception in November 2007, it has produced over Eight Thousand   (8000) Practitioners with majority managing their own businesses. 


The institution is currently Accredited by COTVET,  GES, NVTI & TEU and Affiliated to GNAPVTI, FEPTAG, GNAGM & P-CABAG.

Inhumane:Taxi driver beaten mercilessly by Policemen

A taxi driver believed to be in his 40's who ply Anloga Junction to Atonsu had a close shave after some t hree Police Men p ounced on him and assulted him at the Anloga junction Taxi rank. The victim who mentioned his name as Agya Poku explaining his ordeal to TOPNEWS1 said, he engaged in an exchange of insults with the police personnel who were not in their uniform for intentionally blocking the road with their motor bike whilst the traffic light had indicated green. He said, the cops chased him to his taxi rank where he packed his car, dragged him out of his car and started to beat him up, handcuffed him and drove him off to the central Police station where he received several brutalities from other colleagues of the men in black. The driver added that, he was taken to the Police counter after receiving the beatings where he was detained for sometime before releasing him. He is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country. According to Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boampensem, politicians in the country have over the years displayed gross disrespect for traditional rulers, adding that the politicians are too bossy. Speaking with TOPNEWS in reaction to comments made by the MP of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon Sanja Nanja against the queen Mother of the Land, the chief said the legislator’s behavior if in the olden days, could have attracted severe banishment to him. The MP angrily insulted the authority of the queen Mother by referring to her as a drunkard. Nana Bofotia has therefore called on politicians in the Country to ‘’learn sense’’ and give maximum recognition to the rulers of the land.
