Police investigate police officer manhandling a suspect at Dadease in a viral video

Police have begin investigations into a viral video capturing a police officer meting out a macabre inhumane treatment on a young man during an arrest at Dadease near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region. The said Police officer has been detained and interdicted and will be taken through the due process of the law. Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police yesterday upon receiving a copy of the video sent a team from the Ashanti North Regional Police Command to engage the victim's family. He has also spoken to the victims mother via the telephone and assured her of a thorough investigation into the matter.

KMA to sweep out commercial sex workers from Adum, Asafo

   The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has disclosed it's intention to clamp down on illicit sex workers at Adum and Asafo in the Kumasi Metropolis. A report filed by the Assembly's social services - sub committee which was presented by the Chief Executive officer at KMA, Hon. Samuel Pyne during the Assembly's 2nd ordinary meeting today states that the Assembly has resolved to collaborate with the police and other security agencies to assist them in the battle against the alarming situation of commercial sex activities. According to the report, the Assembly as a matter of urgency will be consulting the security agencies to undertake regular swoops at the areas to apprehend the culprits. Parts of Adum and Asafo in the Kumasi Metropolis have from time immemorial been convenient places for commercial sex workers as efforts by city authorities to clamp down on them have proved futile. Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah accused of land scheme deception

    John Kumah, the Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, is embroiled in a controversy as he faces accusations of involvement in a deceptive land scheme. A woman is seen in a viral video, accusing the minister of deceitfully  taking her land.  She alleges that John Kumah acquired her land under the pretense  of a government project, but instead, he is allegedly using it for his private business.   The visibly upset woman passionately demands the return of her land, expressing her outrage and determination to expose the deputy minister’s actions. Freda Prempeh appointed new sanitation minister

  The president of the Republic of Ghana, his excellency Nana Addo Danqua Akuffo - Addo has appointed hon. Freda Prempeh, Member of parliament for Tano North constituency and Minister of State at the Presidency as the new Minister for Sanitation and water resources. She replaces Mrs. Cecelia Dapaah who is currently under investigations by the police over corruption accusations. Her appointment comes after the President accepted a resignation letter from Mrs. Cecelia Dapaah, on 22nd July, 2023. Meanwhile, the President has also named the Deputy Minister for roads and Highways and Member of parliament for Afigya Sekyere East constituency, Hon. Mrs, Cecelia Dapaah stolen money: Police submit case docket of investigation to the office of the Attorney general

Police have forwarded the docket of the case of Mrs. Cecelia Abenaa Dapaah, former minister for sanitation and water resources and her husband, Mr. Daniel Osei Kuffour to the office of the Attorney general and Ministry of justice. Some suspects involved in the case have been arrested by the police as well as some other stolen items retrieved, whiles the suspects have been arraigned before court. A statement signed by Assistant commissioner of police/ director, public affairs, Ms Grace Ansah Akrofi says, the docket of the case has been submitted to the Attorney general and Ministry of justice to seek their advice to help in their investigations.  Authorities of Adisadel college have discharged the housemaster whose students were involved in a scuffle at the dormitory from his position. A letter signed by the headmaster of the school, Mr. Samuel Kofi Akudogo is asking the housemaster of Quaque House, Mr. Ekow Holman to laydown his position until further notice, as he blames him of failing to discharge his duties accordingly . This move comes after a video which captures two students of the school involving in a violent act. In the said video, a student is seen locking the arms of another student and forcefully hitting his face against a metal bed in the dormitory, resulting in profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye. Adisadel college suspends students involved in violent assault on campus

  The headmaster of Adisadel College has responded to a disturbing video that captures a violent assault on a student within the school premises. The video shows one student locking the arms of another student and forcefully hitting his face against a metal bed, resulting in profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye. The incident, which came to light through the viral video, has sparked outrage and concerns among parents, students, and the general public. According to a brief statement reportedly coming from the headmaster through the chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the school, the incident occurred on June 30, but both the perpetrator and the victim initially kept it hidden from the authorities. KMA bans tricycle operations from the Central business District

As part of measures to install sanity and ease  congestion and traffic jams in the Kumasi Metropolis, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, (KMA), has issued restrictions to tricycle operations within the Central business District effective July 24th, 2023. According to the head of transport department at KMA, Mr. Randy Wilson, Kumasi has been one of the thriving economic centers in Ghana that draws a lot of visitors and investors for business, with the central business district being the main point for business operations. Addressing a section of the media in Kumasi, Mr. Randy said the CBD neighborhoods including Adum, Kejetia, Central Market, and Roman Hill are severely congested due to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, hence, their decision to restrict tricycle operations at these areas.
