Students of Nursing and Midwifery training collages in the country have applauded the Ministry of health for suspending some heads of nursing and midwifery training collages in the country for charging exorbitant and unproved fees.   The Minister of health, Hon Alex Segbefia, addressing a press conference yesterday announced that heads of the Mampong Nursing and Midwifery College, Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College and School dispensary Optics have all been directed to step aside while investigations into allegations of extortion from students begin.   Commenting on the development, the President of Ghana health nurses and Midwifery training Association, Akazi Godwin Asabre told TOPNEWS1 that the decision taken by the Ministry has been long overdue, as they have suffered the intolerable act of the collage heads for a very long time.   He added, they are really impressed with the action taken by the Health Ministry since it will pave way for peopl...

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country. According to Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boampensem, politicians in the country have over the years displayed gross disrespect for traditional rulers, adding that the politicians are too bossy. Speaking with TOPNEWS in reaction to comments made by the MP of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon Sanja Nanja against the queen Mother of the Land, the chief said the legislator’s behavior if in the olden days, could have attracted severe banishment to him. The MP angrily insulted the authority of the queen Mother by referring to her as a drunkard. Nana Bofotia has therefore called on politicians in the Country to ‘’learn sense’’ and give maximum recognition to the rulers of the land.

E/C urged to strive for perfection in the Voter register

    The Programs manager of Center for Human Rights and Advanced Legal Research, Mr. Akosah Ernest, has urged the Electoral commission (EC) to strive for perfection and scrap the current voters register as majority of the Ghanaian populace is demanding.
