Atinka media village claims two awards in 2017 RTP awards

Two of Atinka Media village’s media platforms, Atinka TV and Atinka Fm, have meritoriously taken home two categorical awards in the 2016, 2017 Radio and Television Personality (RTP) awards which was the 7th edition of the scheme.

Di Asa reality TV show was adjurdged the TV reality show of the year whiles Atinka Fm’s Ekuoba Gyasi, host of Atinka Fm's flagship, Atinka morning show won the Best Morning Show host of the year.





The National theater hall was in hysteria as the organizers of Atinka TV’s Di Asa stepped on the platform to receive the honour when the name was mentioned.

Ekuoba Gyasi received the award amidst overwhelming cheers from the spectators who couldn’t hold down their excitement when he got hold of the award.

The show was hosted by Ato Abassah and saw performances from Patience Nyarko, Eboo, Kurl Song and Ebony.

This year’s award scheme which was designed to celebrate radio and television personalities who have excelled in the field was sponsored by Adonko Bitters.

It was held at the Accra International Conference center was graced by former President John Dramani Mahama and other recognized dignitaries.

Atinka Media Village operates Atinka TV, Atinka FM all in Accra, Agyenkwa Fm in Kumasi and Ahotor Fm in the Eastern Region.

Inhumane:Taxi driver beaten mercilessly by Policemen

A taxi driver believed to be in his 40's who ply Anloga Junction to Atonsu had a close shave after some t hree Police Men p ounced on him and assulted him at the Anloga junction Taxi rank. The victim who mentioned his name as Agya Poku explaining his ordeal to TOPNEWS1 said, he engaged in an exchange of insults with the police personnel who were not in their uniform for intentionally blocking the road with their motor bike whilst the traffic light had indicated green. He said, the cops chased him to his taxi rank where he packed his car, dragged him out of his car and started to beat him up, handcuffed him and drove him off to the central Police station where he received several brutalities from other colleagues of the men in black. The driver added that, he was taken to the Police counter after receiving the beatings where he was detained for sometime before releasing him. He is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country. According to Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boampensem, politicians in the country have over the years displayed gross disrespect for traditional rulers, adding that the politicians are too bossy. Speaking with TOPNEWS in reaction to comments made by the MP of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon Sanja Nanja against the queen Mother of the Land, the chief said the legislator’s behavior if in the olden days, could have attracted severe banishment to him. The MP angrily insulted the authority of the queen Mother by referring to her as a drunkard. Nana Bofotia has therefore called on politicians in the Country to ‘’learn sense’’ and give maximum recognition to the rulers of the land.
