Asafo Dunkirk collapsing storey building to be demolished by NADMO



A three commercial storey building at Asafo Dunkirk in the Kumasi Metropolis which was on the point of collapse is to be demolished by the Ashanti Regional branch of National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO.

The demolition exercise was declared when the NADMO, Police and fire service personnel stormed the place after reports that the house was on the verge of collapse this morning.
The exercise according to the NADMO Coordinator, Hon. Kwabena Senkyire was to avert any unforeseen disaster.

The place was declared as a danger zone by NADMO Coordinator Kwabena Nsenkyire and Police and was also cordoned to prevent people from patronizing the area.

Residents and traders were forced to leave the place to pave way for the building to be demolished.
Portion of the building collapsed this morning forcing traders who ply the building to run for their lives.

Moreover, owner of the building, Daniel Fiifi in an interview said he heard some prowlers hammering the pillars of the building last night from the underground of the building.
