Image result for KYEI MENSAH BONSUThe Minority Leader in Ghana’s parliament, Hon. Osei-Kyei Mensah Bonsu has downplayed the call by various government functionaries on the president to release the goaled “Montie 3(M3)” gang who were convicted to four months jail term after the Supreme Court found them guilty of a contempt charge.

Speaking in an interview with TOPNEWS1, the Suame legislator noted that, the convicted NDC cronies have displayed gross disrespect for a while now so their conviction is in the right direction as it will go a long way to effect disciplinary into their media landscape and Ghana at large.

He indicated that, although, the president has the mandate to grant them mercy, it will be suicidal and very irrational for the president to effect that mandate in this situation as these convicted fellows deserves the punishment meted out to them.

He also questioned the principles and credibility of the likes of Nana Oye Lithur (Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection) and Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang (Education Minister) for adding their voice to the call on the president to release the “M3” prisoners.

He tasked Ghanaians to re-assess their perception about them as they are wolves in sheep skin who have thrown the principles they adhered and preached about to the gutters for politics sake.
