Damongo Police decry Poor Place of Convenience
Police at Damongo in the Northern Region are bemoaning
the lack of proper place of convenience for the personnel, as the men still use
pan latrine for easing themselves in this 20th century.
The officer in charge of the Damango Police
command, Chief Inspector Daniel Adu Gyamfi,
in an
interview with TOPNEWS1, decried the unbearable hardship they are going
through due to the situation at hand, saying they fear the possibility of
outbreak of a sanitation related disease due to stench emanating from the
latrine.
According to him, they have been using the
pan latrine method of easing for two years now since he was posted to the
station, a situation he said has been a very big blow to the personnel, as
several complaints lodged to the authorities for better toilet facility have
yielded no positive results.
He appealed to authorities to as a matter of
urgency provide them with a hygienic toilet facility.
