Sofoline drivers union snubs K.M.A
The decision by the City Authorities to relocate
commercial drivers at the Sofoline lorry terminal to pave way for its reconstruction
into a modern one is receiving a fierce resistance from the commercial drivers
plying the terminal.
The aggrieved commercial drivers says they are not
vacating the terminal until the last drop of their blood.
The P.R.O of the Sofoline drivers association, Mr.
Richard Mintah in an interview with TOPNEWS1 News said, the M.O.U which the K.M.A
want them to sign for the commencement of the project does not highlight any of
the pressing proposals of the union especially a legal action which should be
taken in a court of law should there be any breach in the M.O.U, than a court
of arbitration which the KMA suggests is the final binding.
He said, they suspect the KMA of awarding the contract to
LASPALMA, to use as for his personal interest.
He hinted in a wild tone that, until their proposals are
factored, no amount of military force employed by the KMA will compel them to
vacate the land.
