Executives have neglected us after victory: Northern Sector NDC Association cry.

The Ashanti Regional branch of the Northern sector NDC Association has called on President John Mahama to pay attention to their plight because the party’s Executives in the Region have neglected them.

Speaking at the Association’s launch of their ID cards in Kumasi, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Mumuni, patron of the Association said the regional executives’ remember them only during election times when they pay their transportation for them to go and vote for the NDC up north.

“Executives of the Party in the Region have abandoned us to our fate despite our massive contribution to the success of the Party. We are only considered during election periods when they need us to go and vote for them and they only pay our transportation fees without even given us incentives” Alhaji Rahman.

He further called on President Mahama to as a matter of urgency construct the Bolga – Bawku road to ease their transportation.

“The road from Bolga to Bawku has been in a deplorable state for years and travelling through the road has been very uneasy for us since we have to swerve pot holes anytime we drive on it. We are not satisfies with the current state of the access road at all and the President should immediately act on it or we will advise our selves”. He said.

Inhumane:Taxi driver beaten mercilessly by Policemen

A taxi driver believed to be in his 40's who ply Anloga Junction to Atonsu had a close shave after some t hree Police Men p ounced on him and assulted him at the Anloga junction Taxi rank. The victim who mentioned his name as Agya Poku explaining his ordeal to TOPNEWS1 said, he engaged in an exchange of insults with the police personnel who were not in their uniform for intentionally blocking the road with their motor bike whilst the traffic light had indicated green. He said, the cops chased him to his taxi rank where he packed his car, dragged him out of his car and started to beat him up, handcuffed him and drove him off to the central Police station where he received several brutalities from other colleagues of the men in black. The driver added that, he was taken to the Police counter after receiving the beatings where he was detained for sometime before releasing him. He is currently in the hospital receiving treatment.

Politicians Tasked to Respect Tradition

The Krontiene for Sunyani Traditional Council has urged politicians to respect traditional authorities in the country. According to Nana Oboaman Bofotia Boampensem, politicians in the country have over the years displayed gross disrespect for traditional rulers, adding that the politicians are too bossy. Speaking with TOPNEWS in reaction to comments made by the MP of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency, Hon Sanja Nanja against the queen Mother of the Land, the chief said the legislator’s behavior if in the olden days, could have attracted severe banishment to him. The MP angrily insulted the authority of the queen Mother by referring to her as a drunkard. Nana Bofotia has therefore called on politicians in the Country to ‘’learn sense’’ and give maximum recognition to the rulers of the land.
