Executives have neglected us after victory: Northern Sector NDC Association cry.

The Ashanti Regional branch of the Northern sector NDC Association has called on President John Mahama to pay attention to their plight because the party’s Executives in the Region have neglected them. Speaking at the Association’s launch of their ID cards in Kumasi, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Mumuni, patron of the Association said the regional executives’ remember them only during election times when they pay their transportation for them to go and vote for the NDC up north. “Executives of the Party in the Region have abandoned us to our fate despite our massive contribution to the success of the Party. We are only considered during election periods when they need us to go and vote for them and they only pay our transportation fees without even given us incentives” Alhaji Rahman. Introduce Nature Studies in Basic Schools - Nutrition Specialist tells GES.

A Nutrition specialist, Dr. Emmanuel K Asenso is advocating for the introduction of Nature studies in the basic education level by the Ghana Education service. According to him, the move will help the learners to acquire knowledge in the preparation of traditional dishes which have \been proven to be more nutritious and healthy. Dr. Asenso who has been leading the crusade for our local dishes to be given more attention says most of the foods being offered to children nowadays contain a lot of toxins which have dire consequences on the general well being of the children. The Programs Director for Tropenbos International Ghana, Mr. Samuel Nketia, is advocating for the review of the existing forestry laws and policies to ensure sanity in the industry. He said, although, illegal chainsaw activities which had been prohibited by the Timber Resource Management Regulations has been a livelihood support for many Ghanaians but has adversely affected the Country. He was speaking at the presentation of some items to the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana at Fumesua where he attributed the cause of the intense hot weather currently in the country to illegal chainsaw operation and urged practitioners to use the right channel in their activities in order to preserve our forest. Man 19 shot himself dead after being compelled to marry his fiancée.

A 19 year old native of Sawla in the Northern Region, Kwabena Simon has shot himself dead at Bomaa after relatives of his 19-year-old fiancée demanded that he perform the necessary marital rites. According to the police, Simon eloped with his fiancée, Felicia Tetrah, and settled with her at Bomaa in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo Region. Meanwhile, Tetrah’s family traced the two to Bomaa, with the intention of sending her back to Sawla to compel Simon to perform the customary rites leading to marriage. Not satisfied with the turn of events, Simon is reported to have entered his room when the emissary from Sawla was waiting outside, only to shoot himself. He was found dead in a pool of blood on his bed. His body has been deposited at the Tepa Government morgue for autopsy, while a single-barreled shotgun was retrieved from the scene of the incident.

BNI detention of the two Nana Addo aids is unlawful- Lawyer Ampaw

A legal Pratitioner and executive director of Legal advocacy founadtion, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, has questioned the Bureau of National Investigation BNI the detention of the two aids to Nana Akuffo Addo, indicating that they have violated the rights of the two. According to the Legal practitioner, it was unlawful for the BNI to arrest the two since they pose no security threat on the Nation and added that the move by the security agency deepens the Political tension in the Country as we are in the election season. The duos, Kwadwo Kyeremeh and Malik Neequaye, bodyguard and personal photographer of Nana Addo were detained by the BNI late Tuesday for reportedly not filling out a ‘personality profile’ form at the BNI office, despite being asked to.
