Member of Parliament for Bolga Central Constituency, Hon. Isaac Abongo has described the Vice President’s claim of the loss of over GHC 7 billion from the state coffers as a move to divert the attention of Ghanaians from the government’s failure to fulfill its campaign promises.

Speaking at the launch of the Ghana Corporate Governance Initiative in Accra last Tuesday, Dr. Mahammud Bawumia alleged that an amount of GHC 7 Billion spent by the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, has not been accounted for and that the current government discovered this while interrogating data on the previous government’s expenditure.

In an interview on Kumasi based Angel fm Angel In The Morning show, Hon Adongo, who is a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Finance said the Vice President should rather consider apologizing to Ghanaians if he thinks the government cannot make do with their promises instead of instigating public disaffection for the NDC which is now in opposition.
