Image
Asiedu Nketia The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah aka General Mosquito has ruled out claims by some critics that the president erred in pardoning the popular ‘Montie 3 gang’ who were convicted to a 4 months jail term upon being found guilty on a contempt charge . General Mosquito in a submission with TOPNEWS1 rather hailed the president for being compassionate and exercising his power on the three known NDC activists. He noted that, the people especially the NPP who are seriously criticizing the president for releasing the trio have no basis as they (NPP) even opted out when they were contacted to frame the constitution in 1992 so they are in no better position to explain the constitution to the framers themselves. He rather charged them to be prudent as any better governance expert and constitutional critic will hail the president on his decision. Also, the NDC’s general secretary revealed that, th...

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described comments made by President John Dramani Mahama on his ongoing tour of the Western Region about their flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo as unpresidential and very disappointing. Nana Addo had bemoaned the state of roads in the region during his five-day tour of the region, criticizing the government for failing to honour its promise to fix the roads. President Mahama, who is on the tour to kick-start the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s campaign after it was launched last Sunday, hit back at Nana Addo, stating that the NPP flagbearer must have been sleeping on his way to the Western Region to have missed the good work done by the government on the roads. However, addressing a news conference today, the Director of Operations for the NPP campaign, John Boadu, said the language used by the President at the start of his campaign was unfortunate and not befitting his position. According to him, given the P...
