G/R: Juju man arrested during demolition exercise at Nima

A traditional priest who was contracted by some residents at Nima, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra Region to stop a demolition exercise by the AMA has been arrested by the police. A video circulating on social media captures a fetish priest clad in his traditional regalia who walked majestically to the demolition site amidst cheering ups by some youth. According to reports, residents who were affected by the demolition exercise employed the Juju man to go and stop the ongoing exercise with his powers but ended up being arrested by police personnel who were sent there to guide the exercise. The leader of the police team was heard ordering his men to arrest the Juju man who was full of himself. However, those who were chanting and cheering him up were seen fleeing the scene after he was arrested.

SAD NEWS: RAPPER, OJ BLAQ REPORTED DEAD

  The Ghanaian entertainment industry has yet been stroke by great dismay, following the sudden death of popular musician and actor, Andy Nii Akrashei, popularly known as OJ Blaq. According to reports, the "chale wote" hit maker died at the age of 40 on 17th August, 2023, after battling kidney problem for years. It will be recalled that OJ Blaq, was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2021, as a result of his past lifestyle choices involving binge drinking and smoking. He underwent dialysis treatment and was awaiting a kidney transplant but suddenly kicked the bucket earlier this morning. The news of his demise was confirmed by family and close friends of the rapper, however, the cause of his death is yet to be revealed. Sad News: Bekwai MCE’s daughter allegedly murdered at her home

      Reports TOPNEWS1 indicate that the daughter of the Municipal Chief Executive of Bekwai in the Ashanti region, Kwaku Kyei Baffour, has allegedly been killed in her home at Bebu in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti region. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, 3rd August 2023. According to the assembly member for the Bebu electoral area, Boakye Ansah, the husband of the deceased discovered her lifeless body upon returning from work, with her neck turned unnaturally. The police were immediately notified and have begun their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.     Residents at Offinso Abofour Kayera in the Ashanti Region have experienced some relief as a 32 year old refuse dump has been evacuated. The exercise was held by the  Offinso South Municipal in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development was  aimed at improving sanitation confronting issues in the area. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Offinso South Municipality, Hon. Kingsley Owusu Appiah in an interview said the evacuation of Abofour Kayera dumping -site forms part of government's priorities to ensure that dumpsites situated close to residential communities are evacuated to prevent outbreak of sanitation related diseases.   According to the MCE, the motive behind this exercise was to ensure good hygiene in the area which seeks to prevent future outbreak of disease in the future. We are not against tricycle operations in Kumasi – KMA

  The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has explained their decision for regulating tricycle  and other vehicular activities in the Kumasi Metropolis. In an interview with the Media during a stakeholders meeting between the Assembly and the various transport Unions who operate in the Metropolis, Head of the Assembly’s transport Department, Mr. Randy Wilson disclosed that the Assembly is not against tricycle activities but only implementing measures to ensure sanity in the Central Business District. The meeting follows an agitation by Tricycle operators in the Kumasi Metropolis over KMA’s intention to ban them from operating within the Central Business District. The aggrieved Pragia and Aboboyaa operators on Wednesday stormed the Suame to Kejetia Road, preventing commercial drivers from work to express their dissatisfaction against KMA’s decision.
