There’s no future for health care in Ghana – Nsiah Asare

A former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Executive Director of political pressure group, Movement For Change, Dr. Nsiah Asare has said there is no future for health care delivery in the country, looking at the way some interventions like the NHIS has been managed since the NDC government took over power in 2009.

Speaking withTOPNEWS1, the medical doctor revealed the NHIS would have been in a far better shape if the original plan had been followed through to the latter, lamenting the policy is virtually useless nowadays because some reliefs like free maternal care and free treatment for some diseases that originally were catered for by the scheme have been stopped.

He further said employment issues would take center stage in this year’s electioneering campaign and that people would consider their unemployment situations to cast their votes for the various parties.
Dr. nsia asare recounted the plight of some youth who have been denied the opportunity to work after acquiring the necessary training to be able to be employed into various sectors of the economy, just to satisfy conditionalities of the nation’s foreign partners.
