Ashh Fm's Alex Amoako dies

                           The news editor for Kumasi based Ashh FM, Mr. Alex Amoako has died after battling with a short illness. The sudden death the editor who doubles as the Marketing manager for the station happened at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital on Friday, 26th May, 2017. According to a staffer at the station, Mr. Omar Kamir who confirmed the news to Angel News, they are yet to find out the main cause of the sudden demise of late Mr. Amoako. He said Mr. Amoako had been complaining about waist pain and sought for a six Months leave to enable him seek proper medical care but can't confirm he died as a result of the waist pain.  He added that his body has been conveyed to the Emena morgue for autopsy.  

Otumfuo chastises successive governments for failing to fight galamsey

The Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II has added his voice to government’s anti – galamsey move, blaming the intensified rate of the menace on the failure by successive governments to tackle the menace. Speaking at a gathering when the Minister of Lands and Natural resources, Hon. Peter Amewu paid a curtsey call on him at the Manhyia Palace, the Asantehene accused the EPA and the Ministry of Lands for being adamant as the situation keeps intensifying. Moreover, Otumfour lauded government’s move to deal with the menace and called for the provision of employment avenues for the youth who would be affected. We will provide jobs for ‘Galamseyers’– President Akufo-Addo

The President of the Republic, Nana AddoDankwa Akufo-Addo, has indicated that his government is in the process of identifying alternative sources of livelihood for persons involved in illegal mining activities, popularly referred to as ‘galamsey’, across the country. According to President Akufo-Addo, a cabinet committee has been established, and headed by the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimping Boateng, to this effect. The committee, he added, will also implement to the letter government’s strategy on combating the illegal mining menace. Small scale miners plead for shorter suspension period

                             Small scale miners association in the Ashanti Region has begged the government to consider a shorter period for the suspension of their activities, as the six months suspension period might kill their business. The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the small scale miners Association, Frank Osei speaking at a gathering when the Minister for Lands and Natural resources, Hon. Peter Amewu said they will go bankrupt if they stay home for the next six months without embarking on their activities. According to him, they are eager to collaborate with the government to fight the menace, and that the government should consider a shorter period for them. Anas’ next video: 60 'bad' people to be exposed

Ace Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has hinted that he is going to release his most challenging undercover investigative piece in his entire career, which involves 60 people who have done great evil to the state.
